Default Changing out bars and risers?

How much work is involved in changing deluxe bars. It's stock now and I'm going to narrow beach bars withinternal wiring and fat risers.

I am out of town and can't inspect my bike right now.
How much tin has to be stripped to change risers? Is it difficult to run the internal wiring? I'm not a mechanic but I have changed out my grips and did my own v & h true dual installation and fuel pac.

Apparently all stock cables will fit. That makes me think that the change won't bring the bars too much closer to me. I was hoping to get them about 1 to 2 inches closer. I think that anything I gain with the longer puller back will be counter because I going from the curved pull back risers to ones which are straight. As long as it doesn't make me reach further the looks should be worth it.

Any tips would be appreciated.

That is the great thing about the internet. Iused oneguys method for pumping out all the old oil through the return line. It was cheap($10.00 forthe liasle connector tool) and his method worked great.

I changed out the risers and bars on my 07 fatboy, and didn't have to remove any of the fork tins. I just used a long wobble extension. It's kind of a tight fit, but works great. And as far as the wiring, all you have to do is slide the tnak back a few inches to get at the connectors. Not too much trouble, just remove the fuel quick disconnect, and pull it back. Good Luck.

I changed out my stock bars last weekend. Added ss lines and wired internally. No real issues. Took a total of about 4 hours with a buddy helping me. I did remove the rear tins......just loosened up the side bolts on the necelle and the tins slid right off. Taking apart the connectors to remove the wiring was alot easier that what I thought it was going to be.

Letme know if you have any specific questions.

BTW, I did crack open my service manual once or twice.
