Default Riders on the Duece

Hi all. I have been reading this forum for a couple weeks and this is my first post.
There seems to be a vast amount of knowledge and experience in here. I have learned a lot already.

I have a 2004 Duece (EFI) with about 4k miles. It is stock except for a windshield and engine gaurds.
This is my first bike and I love it. It has been locked up for three months and I have an itch that needs to be scratched.

I was thinking about stepping up and getting some pipes and other mods. I was wondering what other Duece/Softail owners have done.
I am more interested in riding and performance more than just looking pretty. I would like to have that rumble but don't need REAL loud pipes.
Been thinking about 2into1 pipes (not sure of brand) and of course Stage I with remap.

By the way, I got the black one because it is faster.

I own a 2004 deuce too. Two tone blue.

Love it.

I have done grips, pegs, brake levers, Various chrome acc. Etc Etc.

I have the vance and hines big radius pipes on mine. They are not too loud if you keep the baffles in. Took mine out.

When you get pipes you will need to get a stage one air filter and the fuel injection remapped by dealer. Not overly expensive.

But after all is said and done you will feel a big difference in power. Stock exhoust just doesnt let the bike breath.

Go with a brand name pipe and you should be happy with them.

The two into one pipes i Have heard are the best for performance.

I wanted the look of a chopper on a harley so i went with what i got.

I am more interested in looks of the bike more than power.

Go with what you feel would make the bike yours, and you wont go wrong.

If you have any questions e-mail me.

Ours is an SE Deuce (1550)...Stage 1 and remap- V&H Staggered Duals....Love the rumble, although I love the look of the big radius pipes....My only concern is do they act like street sweepers and kick up a lot of dust? I hate a clean bike right up to where I pull in (watering hole, bikefest, etc. only top coat my ride with dust!
