Default Newbie Question/concern

Bought new 08 deluxe last November and stored it all winter in a heated garage (11 kms on it before putting it away)Brought it out about a month ago and now have approx 1100 kms on it. Love the bike but I noticed there is an oil drip coming from the gooseneck area while it was stored over the winter. It drips onto my fender. Since I been driving, it gets all over the frame and onto the heads from the wind. It is not an excessive amount but enough to be a pain. I took it to the dealership and they say it is not a problem as it is just extra greasein the gooseneck as part of the manufacturing. They say it will eventually stop dripping. Is this BS or is this the goods? I have to keep wiping it off, but it is a pain having to clean the heads and frame. Any feedback would be appreciated.
Newbie.

Welcome to the forum and congrats on your new bike. That is normal don't worry about it other than cleaning it. It may happen again after your routine maintenances if you have the dealer do those as well. It will go away after you put some miles on.

I have an 07' Deluxe with over 10,000 mileson it and haven't seen a drip of oil out of it yet. I wouldn't be happy having to clean that off my new bike either. Perhaps marine grease, like the old harley guy suggests. It does make sense.

Thanks for the feedback. I will keep wipin although it hasn't been too bad lately. Now I can just focus on adding accesories to it! Although I am quickly realizing that this can get costly. Thanks again for the posts.
