deadman77, why did you mount it behind the splash guard? I have mine under the seat on my 06. I know the 07 and newerFatboys are supposed to go behind the splashguard, but I thought 06 and older went under the seat. Any reason you chose to put it behind the splash guard? I ask b/c I have considered moving mine to free up the room under the seat again. Mine fits, but I may want to change seats later on.

If you use PCIII be carefull where you mount it.
Mine is is under my seat.
When I went to the narrow passenger pilion and washed my bike it would not start.
I could unplug PCIII an it started no problem.
Call their teck support and they said no way it is waterproof.
I went so far as to buy another.
Before I swapped to new I gave the old one another try (after four days) and it had returned to life.
So I returned the new one.
Later the same thing happened again so I dried it out and it started again.
After that I wrapped it in a zip lock bag and sealed it with electrical tape.
That was over a year ago, I rode two hours through heavy rain on the way to Sturgis last year with out issue.

I just thought the Thundermax was an overkill for me. It is also something that could break... same as the PCIII. That is why I wanted the SERT. There are no add ons. As you already know it just uses the existing HD components. There is nothing to mount. It just sounded like the way to go.
The TMax is not an add-on piece. It completely replaces the original ECM and if you get the Autotune module replace the stock narrow band O2 sensors with wide band sensors.
I have one on my 07 Custom and it operates EXACTLY like the original ECM, just with more versatility.

Put the PCIII in front of the mud guard, no issues with room under the seat that way.
