Default Problem lifting my tank :(

Hi guys,
I have just bought a 01 fxst, I have Jackyl kit, trying to lift the tank, I loosened the rear bolt under the seat.
Removed the front bolt as per instructions.

Sadly, the tank won't move high, at all, it seems stuck and I don't know what is stopping it from going up.

I did unscrew the rear bolt totally (the one under the seat), and then removed the Console and hung it over the handle bar.

Still the tank did not move up, seems the wires are tangled or something.. . I am a newbie at this so I didn't want to mess up something bad.

This means I can not even move my tank for any reason !.

Is it time to take it to a mechanic ?! or any advice.

Regards

A.K.

Going to have to remove the fuel crossover line.

If the tank won't move at all it may just be that it is a very tight fit on the rubber shoe that goes over the frame. My tank is a pretty tight fit and needs a good tug to get it moving. Depending on how high you are lifting the tank, the existing fuel cross over may be long enough, but you will probably need to drain the tank and remove the old cross over line and replace it with a longer one. The same applies to the vent line from the front of the tank.

Thanks guys,

I am going to get someone to do it for me, I am not the good mechanic and will probably do more damage,

Slowly slowly I hope I get enough confidence to start curring lines and tugging on the tank

Thank you again.

Regards

I would think the cross over too, plus as said before maybe fitting tight over the rubber shoe.

Changing the lines is no big project at all, I would save your $ and try to do it yourself, not much you can mess up with this type of mod.imho.
