on my new train i couldnt get a low sissy bar in wrinkle black so the dealer got me a chrome one and had the chrome removed and powder coated in a wrinkle black finish came out pretty good but youd probably be minus a headlight for a week or so
the wrinkle black spray paints seem to do a reasonable job on small things but only use a light coat or the wrinkles get to big
just some ideas sure someone will know where to buy a black one

The chrome only has to be scuffed to the point of "no shine". It can then be powdercoated or painted. I took a headlight housing to a powdercoater and Blaze is right, about 1 week out. They did all the work to it tho.

My street bob has a black head light on it already... don't know what these cost, but an option. It's about the same size too I guess.... Powercoating the one you already have it exciting as well. Nice to have options.

no prob powdercoating over chrome, use to do it all the time when I ran a custom wheel and powdercoating plant; we coated all the chrome blem wheels.

A good time to get parts chromed or powder coated is when there is snow on the ground!

I powder coat over chrome all the time. Email me: kzach@wi.rr.com, I have fast turnaround and great prices. I just finished a Billet headlight in black for my Train. Not installed yet, waiting for some parts and I want to change handlebars at the same time.

thanks for the offer, but I found a place in town that does powder coating. Im also waiting to install it when I change handlebars, but still waiting for service manual to get here and havent found a set of plain black leather grips for the new handlebar, street slammer.

Why not just paint it yourself, a little sanding and some self etching primer and your base coat and your golden...

You'll probably spend $20.00 and have it done the same day !

I've done this on some of my parts and it has worked out great..

Cheers,

Dave..
