Price from Harley is about $70. Top of deflector bends toward front, side bends toward rear. Unless you want to install them backwards. Then just reverse what I said.
I've had them on the King Size windshield (20 1/2")
and the Nostalgic (17")windshield and they work great for the head buffering.
I couldn't stand the looks of them, but could stand riding 70 mph without them, so I traded for a Street Glide.
One difference between the Kuryakyn and the HD ones,
is the HD one have a little indent in the side so they wouldn't hit a Hiway/Crash Bar on a Softail and the Kuruakyn's one doesn't.
I don't have many pictures because I would either take them off to take pictures or qngle the front forks so you couldn't seem them much.
That being said here's some pictures:
I think the windshield is enough for me. Even though they're chrome and we all know chrome is good, I don't like the looks of those things. Figure if the wind ever does bother me that much I'll have to step up to afairing style bike.
Thanks for taking the time to do that for me. You're alright for a wirlybird, ever try jumping out of them?
oh yeah. UH-1 Hueys, CH-34 Choctaws and CH-47 Chinooks.... plus, every other airplane operated by the Air Forcerigged for parachute operations.... even an ArmyOH-2 Beaver. I was in on some of the first testsusing the C-5A. I was enlisted before becoming a Warrant.
here are some photos of my wind deflectors. like has been said here before, the instructions leaves much to be desired on which way they go. I mounted mine opposite from Texas Fat Boy. after talking to folks and reading several postsfrom those that have them, it's about evenly split on which way is the right way. seems they workeither way. plus, I like the look better on mine.
I guess they dont look to bad as long as the work I would be good with it but if they dont do the job or at least 70 % of it then I dont think I would be satisfied. But I am running out of ideas so I may give them a try. I really like the wind in my face (no helmet) but I just dont feel comfortable ridding on the interstate of highway without one. When I dont wear a helmet then I am fine, no buffeting, but when I do the windshield has to come off and I would like to have it on for long rides.
I just got a set of deflectors like the ones pictured with the cut out. I too have been fighting the helmet buffeting thing on my Heritage Softail. I've heard good reviews about deflectors working so I got a set. Going to put them on soon and repost results and maybe some pictures
I found them on eBay for $50 . Hard to find for Softail, so I jumped on them quick. Harley sells some that are kind of rounded, not sharp/angular for about $100. Was going to buy the Harley ones if I couldn't find something else cheaper
