Default exhaust

I have a new 08 fatboy and wanting to change the exhaust. What kind should I go with (slip ons, v&h etc) to keep from voiding my warranty. I was told that the remap progrom was only good for SE slip ons and air filter. All replies greatful.

I had my dealer put on the V&H BSS from the start. Never even heard the stock pipes. Because they were done at the same time I paid for the Fatty, they are covered under the two year warranty. I got the remap done with the SE AC. No problems here. I wanted a full system instead of just slipons as I think the exhaust system looks better fully done. Just my opinion of course.

I talked to my service guy at the selling dealership......He handed me a Vance & Hines card and said to go with them. He also stated that they have never had a problem and never a waranty issue.

I like that V&H setup, I am picking up may 08 Fatboy on the 10th so I may just have them put them on. I am sure slpons will sound good but will not look as good as the V&H.

if they voided the warranty with an exhaust change just about every one would not have one. the percentage of riders who change there exhaust has to be upwards of 90%. dealers will always make you feel like they have to do the work in order for them to honor the warranty. what i found out is that when they want to get something through the warranty they have there ways. i cant tell you how many deals are made behind the scenes like a chrome inner primary being installed under the warranty saying there was a leak and now the labor is paid for by Harley and the service manager is making a few dollars on the side from the customer. if Harley ever had under cover inspectors in some of these dealerships things would be different. We have a dealer up here who over charges on most labor charges adding hours and at $80 dollars an hour it hurts. I have broken ties with my dealer about two years ago after the service manager starting yelling at me for checking out my piece of **** legends air ride after they installed it and it would not hold air. He was yelling at me and saying what the hell are you doing touching the bike your not a mechanic That was it never went back best move I ever made.

ditto nikon f8. Dude thats not going to void the warranty.....if your dealer's telling you that he's full of s*#&t! Hell most HD dealers sell aftermarket pipes so if that was the case all the dealers would void their own warranty
