I almost had the same thing happen on my Road King. Pulling it into the garage, I put the kickstand down. I then realized that I needed to move about six inches forward. I walked the bike forward and went to lean it on to the kickstand which had mysteriously popped itslef back up. Needless to say, it took all my strength to keep it from going down.

Did the same thing at a gas station.&nbsp\\; Stopped and just stepped off and did not put the jiffy down...I would like to think it was because of the bikini wash...but I don't think there was a bikini within miles....looked cool in front of the church group in the van....at least they didn't point when they laughed.

The more comfortable and relaxed you become, the more likely you are to make mistakes.

Dropped my old Heritage once due to uneven pavement and dropped my electrglide right after I
got it thanksto both gravity and inertia.

Yup, been there, done that.&nbsp\\; Now I double-check myself each time I set the stand down.&nbsp\\; Whenever I have to move the bike inside my garage, I always stand the bike upright, roll it, and then make sure the stand re-locks itself as the weight goes back on it.
&nbsp\\;
Down here in Florida there are many soft spots (gravel, grass, dirt roads, etc) where you decide to ride or park.&nbsp\\; Watching for the jiffy stand to settle into the stuff is a fine art.&nbsp\\; I have a plastic stand-holder which spreads the direct pressure and prevents "sinking" into the ground.&nbsp\\; On real hot days you can even sink into the asphault, so having a plate under the stand helps prevent finding you bike down.

More embarrassing is when you forget to put down the jiffy stand. Add me to that club.
