Today I installed the one piece chrome console Harley part 71202-03. I can tell you that installing on a softail Deluxe it does not fit like it should. You can make it work but the stock seat rides up on the dash panel and it makes it hard as hel to get the seat on. Need to trim a little of the gasket to clear the bottem of that plate that is mounted on top center of tank. And it seems I had to tighten the console nut way to tight to get the consle seated. In the 06 HD catalog page 348 it shows a photo and the seat is where it should be, but on the Deluxe it will be up on the chrome, you can squish it down some , but it has a tendacy to raise the console up in the middle and It was way to hard to put the seat on. It should not be like this. I took it back off cause I dont like to have to cram parts. Just thought Id tell youins about it so youd have a heads up on it ifn youins decide to install one.[8D]
No pics, cant ever figure out how to get photos on here. I took it off cause I dont like having to cram the seat on with great force. Put the stock one back on. I like my stuff to fit perfect.
Put one on my 05 Heritage Classic and it fits Great. Should be the same as a Deluxe. There is a little bit of adjustability for and aft. Can you slide the console forward enough to get the seat to fit. I had to fool with the placement to get mine to sit just right but now it looks perfect. I hated that stock console!!
Sorry, I Think that the stock seat on the Deluxe rides higher up on the tank than the seat on the Heritage, Which means I was comparing apples and oranges. Now I understand the problem. Wish you luck, maybe someone else here has put one on a Deluxe.
No., could not adjust it enuff, I looked at it real hard. I just didnt like have ing to smash the seat so hard to get it on. I thought about haveing the front of my seat shortend , then it would lay down on it nice.
