HI Guys
 \\;\\\\\\;
I have an 07 Softail Deluxe I bought about 6 months ago... It came with a windscreen that up until today I have not used.
 \\;\\\\\\;
Im planning my first long ride soon from Cairns (far north Queensland) to Brisbane and back ( about 3400k round trip)... Today I fitted the screen to the bike for a test ride...HATED IT... Im about 5ft 10 and the top of the sceen sits just above eye level.. It was noisy and the wind turbulance \\; felt like someone had hold of my helmet and was shaking it, I found it hard to focus \\;\\\\\\; and had a headache after about 10 minutes.
 \\;\\\\\\;
Am I the only one to have this experience or am I missing something.. is it to short????... At this stage ill probably go without it... Im planning to ride 5 to 6 hundred KLM per day (300 to 380 miles)
 \\;\\\\\\;
any feedback or opinion much appreciated.
 \\;\\\\\\;
Cheers
Magpie
Is it a HD windshield? \\; If you are 5 ft 10 sitting on a stock Deluxe seat and still looking through the windshield you have a big piece of glass in front of you. \\; Most will say that you should look over the windshield rather than through it. \\; Run a piece of tape across the glass and adjust it so you are looking over the tape while in a riding position. \\; Re-cut the glass at that point. \\; You will get some buffeting but that usually is coming under the glass. \\; Still, many prefer not to ride with a shield but for me that is very noisy and tiring over 60 mph. \\; A well adjusted and fitted shield should help...maybe not with the lines of the bike, but certainly with the wind.
