I finally bit the bullet, and traded out of the crotchrocket into a harley, took me almost 2 years to do it (wasnt the ego, or my age, just the wallet!!!!)! I want to do a couple of things to it, and want some advice. Ive read up on the different ways to rake these bikes out a bit more, and Id like the look, especially on the fatboy with the FL style forks. It seems a complicated thing to do, especially since mine is the bastard 07 with the visibly offset front wheel. Ive looked up the numbers on the computer, and it seems the easiest/best looking option for a mildly raked fatboy is the HHI triple tree kit. I dont believe offset cups are gonna work with the tin, and you get a trick smooth top clamp, and 2 inch fork extensions with the HHI kit (feel free to comment!!). I think I also want to move to a 19" front wheel, maybe 21 (but not skinny, gotta be at least 3" wide), and have read conflicting info as to what will fit under the stock fatty front fender. I am leaning towards a Dyna Harly profile rim, in a 19 diameter, how will I fit this to my fatty with offset front wheel (is all the offset in the spacers? Is there a different offset with respect to the caliper mount bosses on the fork slider???? How do I re-offset the front fender centered if I end up with a rim that is centered??) I also intend to drop the rear as much as my butt can stand it, if I can ever find this cutthroat customs kit you guys talk about !!! Thanks!!
Welcome to the fat side. You sure have a lot of plans for your fatty. I wish you all the luck, but I haven't seen any fatties yet with the kind of work you are planning for the front end. Post a few pics when you can. Enjoy.
What do you mean Wallet? You will save money on a Harley. Less speeding tickets and you dont fall down as much doing stupid stuff. O but wait more after market stuff. Yea you will need a second job. Congrats.
