Default considering bagger

I'm considering using my bike as my primary mode of transportation rather than just a hobby. I have a fatboy and with the price of nice saddlebags, lower exhaust (to fit bigger bags) and the other stuff I'd like to have I'm close to just selling and getting a Road King or Street Glide. I drive 50 miles to work and need the extra space and wonder if the air suspension is any nicer. That said....I wonder if I'm going to regret this.. I mean my fatboy has a ton of stuff on it, looks freaking great and is an all around great bike. Are the baggers that much better? Anyone else done this? I can't be the first.... anyone with an opinion?

I bought an '05 Fatboy last year, rode it for about 5000 miles and the girl friend was less than pleased with the ride quality (fatboy lowered 2" front an back). So we decided to got another bike, an Ultra. Just get two bikes, best of both worlds!!!

Force yourself to give up auto transportation for a month and ride only the bike. If you can live without a car for a month then you're well on your way. I just wouldn't make a leap like that.

Have ridden, owned and loved both the RK Classic and now the SG. Either way, both the RK and SG would be good picks for commuting.

The SG is gorgeous as is and that's why I replaced my totaled RK Classic with the SG.

But............... since you may be coming off of a FB you might want to consider one of the RK's since the Standard and Classic come with the removable windshield giving you a nice cruiser with the windshield off when tooling around town and you want that bugs in the teeth experience.

Either way you can't go wrong.

Primo

P.S. Nothing beats a baggers suspension and ride.

This is exactly my story. But if 2 bikes aren't in your budget, I think I would agree with Primo. The RK may be the bike for you.
I do LOVE my fatboy. Can't really imagine not having it. But now that I have experienced the Ultra I am spoiled. The poor fatboy never gets anything over 200 mile trips now. The touring bikes do have a SWEEEET ride!. Hope this helps

I have an Ultra that takes me to work everyday. I have a Nissan Titan that I only start every 2 weeks. Love to ride my Ultra everyday to work. I have more storage room than I need.
