Thanks Mark! \\; I am still after one of those sweet front fenders!! We are checking into the T's.. We have a friend that has a dealer account at Harley, so that gives us a huge break on parts and accessories. \\;
I'd suggest seriously thinking about a windshield... went for a fairly long ride yesterday and stripped it down, and forgot what a difference it makes when riding on the freeways/highways. If you get a removable, you can strip it down at will and only use it when you need it.
 \\;
Also, for a sissybar bag check out Jafrum (www.jafrum.com)... I got one from them which was cheap, really well-made and good quality. We can fit a ton of stuff in it, can pack as little or as much as we need, and it goes on and off real easy.

Have fun!

Instead of a windshield think about buying a Kuryakyn handlebar bag that straps on in front of your handlebars \\; and straps around your trees. Its a big roll bag and it acts just like a windshield and creates an air dam that goes right over your head. Plus its a great bag that can hold a lot of stuff for easy access. I dont use a windshield but thats what I use on my 06 FXSTI for the long hauls. T-bags also makes a nice handlebar bag.
I have a 08 NT and took a round trip \\;from KansasCity to Detroit (850mi) we took mostly back roads to get there (22hrs) and on the way back all freeway (15hrs) stright through. I bought a windshield ,a cup holder and that was it. Let me tell ya the stock seat sucks, the stock handle bars were great, the windshield (quick release) and cup holder were great. It's only 5 hrs so if you don't like the way it is for long rides you can change it. Have fun. \\; \\;
By the way my friend has a rocker (rocketman69) for the ride and he wished he had my windshield[]. He ended up buying a fullface for the way back.[sm=noooo.gif]
Vegas should be a piece of cake, Ive done Vegas from NM, once did a trip from SoCal to Vegas in the rain. doesn't sound like your riding too far, take your time, stay hydrated, I do recommend some kind of shield on longer trips, I use the windvest and really like it. \\;\\\\\\;
we looked at the Windvest shields. Also at the Harley sport shields. Still trying to decide. Thanks for all the input. It is much appreciated!! \\;
If you do decide to get a windshield, don't make the same mistake I made with my first... I didn't want a big one, as I don't really care for the looks, so I got the lower-profile shield sight unseen when I bought the bike. It wasn't sized right (should be just about at eye-line), and the wind buffeting was pretty bad for me, and horrible for the wife. I finally found a larger one that fit my mounts on eBay (that's a whole `nother nightmare story - I now own 5 shields!), and it works great when I need it.
