I have a 2001 Heritage. Has anyone ever mounted a 12 volt lighter? I am wanting a genuine Harley lighter but cant seem to find one. I have all but went up to the dealer and asked.

Anybody have a link?
under cheap mods they suggest a basic autozone lighter can be hooked up to the tail from the battery charger that seems to be on most bikes.
 \\;
you can leave it hooked up and in a saddlebag or just plug when you need it.

I just mounted a lighter on the top of my coil cover on my 06 heritage I use it to light up when riding and charge cell phone when taking long trips and no electrical outlet is available. Just make an L shaped braket drill a hole big enough for the lighter to be mounted in ,I only use on bolt to hold mine on and it seems to hold without any problems.

Good Luck and post up some pics of it when your done in the DIY Cheap thread.
I'm always interesed in adding new tricks to the thread so others can get ideas for their bikes.
I just cut a hole in tin under running lamp switch and installed a $6 lighter from walmart, looks clean and works great. have power to charge phones when on long trip and doesnt look bad @ all. wouldnt even knoe it was there if I hadnt done it.
I got mine from JC Whitney, has a rubber water "seal" between the **** and the element. \\; Mounted mine on the console just in front of the odometer reset button. \\; It was tight but works great.
