Default New Speedo

I bought a new hd speedo/tach combo on line and want to get my current mileage put on it from my old one. I called the dealer here and they said they couldn't do it. They only do it at the factory. Is this true or was he telling me this because I didn't by it from them. Does anyone know where I could get this done? Thanks.

Depending on who you ordered it from they should be able to update the mileage for ya! My wife bought one online for me as a surprise from Chicago HD last year.&nbsp\\; She never knew that they contacted me wanting mileage for the new speedo/tach that was ordered.&nbsp\\; I love her!!!! &nbsp\\;

Yes... that's the one drawback that I hated about switching over.
&nbsp\\;
When I ordered mine I had to tell them what to set it for, and given the shipping time I estimated it with a buffer. I had to go riding the day I installed it to get my&nbsp\\;mileage close, just because.
&nbsp\\;
You could also record the mileage on the current odometer in your manual when you make the change, so the offset is documented for legal purposes.

I just installed a combo unit. Part #74744-08. The factory has to reinstate the mileage. The dealer took the mileage and forwarded it to the factory with the order. My combo was for a 2008 Heritage and did have the clock function. In fact, it has all of the functions of the stock speedo. Based on what I have read in this forum&nbsp\\;the older models (prior to 2008) of the combo units didn't have the clock function. The 2008 model does.[sm=icon_rock.gif]
