Hi, Has anyone ever had a PCIII ruin their engine? A service tech told me that they can ruin your engine and that I should spend the big bucks on a race tuner.

Any thoughts?

Any one of the tuners can potentially ruin your engine if they are set too lean or the ignition curve isn't set up properly. The ones you mention can both do about the same damage if not set up properly. There have been reports of the PC III going bad and in some cases taking out the ECM with it but this doesn't happen frequently. The PC III piggybacks the ECM where the race tuner reprograms it and I think it is the better choice myself out of the two.
