Default Fatboy windsheild ?????

I'm contemplating the purchase of a detachable windsheild for my 04 fatty. Does anyone have any advice on what style, height and manufacturer to look into. A little advice goes a long way. thanks Guys.

Ive got the HD nastolgic low profile shield on my fatboy.&nbsp\\; Im 6ft 1 and the top of the shield is right round the height of my mouth.&nbsp\\; Very little buffeting and it looks pretty good.&nbsp\\; Heres the part humber 57141-05&nbsp\\;and the link to the sight

I went with the HD King-Size, clear windshield (for SoftTails with the chrome nacelle and passing lamps) neither of which I have YET.
&nbsp\\;
I also had 2 3/8' cut from the top, following&nbsp\\;the original profile.
&nbsp\\;
I wear a 3/4 helmet and haven't noticed any buffeting.

I bought the Memphis Fats 17" solar shield&nbsp\\;with the quick disconnect hardware for my '03 Fatboy. &nbsp\\;Besides the pullback risers for the handlebars it's the best investment I've made for my bike.&nbsp\\; My only regret is that I didn't buy the 19" shield.
You can visit their website and they will show you how to measure for the proper height.&nbsp\\; Sit in your normal position and measure the height from the top of the headlight to your nose and that's the size you need.&nbsp\\; I bought mine from JP Cycles and I think it was about $320.&nbsp\\; Good luck....

Get a detachable, and get one that comes right about the nose on your face... that is the right fitment. Great to be able to remove it, and great to have one that fits right!

I'm 6 foot with a 32" inseam
&nbsp\\;
With both HD shields I needed the "Chrome Fork Air Deflectors" to stop the head buffering.
They work great, makes the ride easy and enjoyable.
&nbsp\\;
The King Size - 20 1/2"
The top was right at my eye level, annoying
&nbsp\\;
&nbsp\\;\\\\\\;

&nbsp\\;
The Nostalgic 17"&nbsp\\;I was looking about 3" over it.
Leans back (angles)&nbsp\\;more than the King Size.
Shield is in line with the front forks
&nbsp\\;\\\\\\;
&nbsp\\;\\\\\\;
&nbsp\\;
&nbsp\\;
The Memphis Shades&nbsp\\;19" El Paso
I was looking about 3" over the top of it.
Best looking but:
&nbsp\\;
No head buffering, but it did have a lot of wind noise in my ears. Annoying

I&nbsp\\;bought the Nostalgic King Size (page 253 of the HD accessory catalogue)&nbsp\\;in clear for my 03' Fatboy after&nbsp\\;sitting on a heritage with&nbsp\\;it on it....I liked the way it looked and&nbsp\\;it came right up to my&nbsp\\;nose......I ride&nbsp\\;round trip to work about 60 miles a day&nbsp\\;and the coastal breeze sometimes has the wind really whipping.....I think it will be much more comfortable with a windsheild.......&nbsp\\;
