I also had 2 3/8' cut from the top, following \\;the original profile.

I wear a 3/4 helmet and haven't noticed any buffeting.
You can visit their website and they will show you how to measure for the proper height. \\; Sit in your normal position and measure the height from the top of the headlight to your nose and that's the size you need. \\; I bought mine from JP Cycles and I think it was about $320. \\; Good luck....
