Default Front Lowering Kit

I am getting ready to install the front lowering kit on my 06' Softail Standard. According to the instructions I have to pull the tubes off the tree. Is there any reason I can't just take the cap off while the tubes are still on the bike, pull the springs out and put it back together with the lower springs? If I have to pull it all the way apart, I'll probably take it to the shop to have it done. Help please!

YES, you have to pull the tubes off the tree. That cap on the top screws into the real tube cap. Your going to have to put the tube into a soft vise or something tight to get the cap off. When you DO get the second cap off, it will fly off from the pressure of the original spring, so be careful!

Do it yourself.. it's actually a very easy job.
