First of all, Im very happy with the xieds, dropped the temps. to 230 from all day driving and idling at lights at any given weather from upper 70s to mid 90s. I installed the Vance and Hines duals with quiet baffles, their brand intake kit and fuel pak prior to xieds, did not recalibrate any setting of fuel pak prior to xieds installations. My question is the first 2 days was fine with xieds maybe a pop or two every 10 minutes or so, but after 300 miles on it I get a deceleration pops everytime coming from 3rd on down, very frequent the first 15 minutes riding getting oil to optimum temps. Seems to run OK, will different or bad fuel cause it? should I recheck fuel pak settings? has anybody experienced pops after installation. Everything was installed pretty much the same time. Thanks for any input
I have the XIED and no decel popping with stock pipes. I'll be installing a Supertrapp 2 into 1 soon. I have noticed backfires during starting a couple of times. I guessed it was caused by a little more unburned fuel in the exhaust gasses. A small price to pay for lower exhaust temps.
Ill check all connections again and make sure fuel pak is reading the same but you are right small price for running cooler, just wondering decelaration pops actually hurt anything. I might also take off the xieds and ride around just to see if its the cause or I have a defective pair. Ill post up my findings.

This suggests to me that you have an exhaust leak. Metal expands as it heats, so if you have a marginal connection anywhere in the exhaust (maybe at the sensor bung?), it will likely get worse or better as things warm up.
\\;From what I have read decel popping is from small amounts of air getting into the exhaust when off the throttle usually from small leaks in the exhaust system (flange gaskets, joints).
also check your intake manifold for leaks at cylider heads . \\; In the way back there was a tech buliten on this, it seems HD had a run of bad gaskets maybe they found some old ones and have mistakenly put them back on current units!
Start your bike. Take a propane tourch...DO NOT LIGHT THE TOURCH... Pass the porpane over the connections and O2 sensors. If the tone changes that is where your leak is.
thanks for the inputs fellas, Ill check connections, only 6ft lbs on header bolts from what I read and I made sure I bought new gaskets when I did the install.
