I read with great interest the many thoughts on upgrading stock pipes. I have a efi 05 heritage and I'm getting the SE slip ons. I want a better sound but not to much louder and I want fish tail or shark tale end caps. Dealer told me I would need the re-mapping but maybe not the air flow piece because of the fish tail caps...Any thoughts. I know people get tired of constant questions concerning exhaust but the fish tail caps are a little different twist.

 

Coach, any time you change exhaust especially EFI, I'd have it remapped for best performance.

As to Fish-Tails, I love the Classic Nastalgic look, however they do produce their own unique sound. IMHO, you may want to listen to some 1st ... just in case the sounds not for you.

 

I agree with Rick. I would have them throw an exhaust pobe in her to make sure it's dialed in correctly.

OK boys...once again thanks for the help. I'm goin with the SEII slip ons, remap and air filter. Saving $110.00 thru Mazotti Motors on those 3 pieces

 

Maybe this is after the fact, but I just put a set of true dual Samson Silver Bullets on with Fish Tails. Great classic look. Loud, but not outrageous and deep enough sound at a constance speed to not give you a headache.

I have a 93 Heritage {obviously different motor different sound} I put on Vance and Hines straight shots they sound great and you can buy end caps of different styles including fish tails
