Default Windvest windscreens

I posted a questions about a better windscreen for my 07 Softail Heritage because I couldn't see at night and in the rain at night. I had the stock one cut 3.5 inches while on a trip and that worked except the cut wasn't perfect and it caused some buffeting on my helmet due to the design and the lowering. So, a very helpful biker recommended Windvest and while in CA. I visited Windvest and met Doug Dober, the owner. He fit a smoked screen, adjusted and mounted it. And sent the old one back home. All I can say is that it was worth every penny and makes the bike easy to ride. No buffeting. Looks clean. Thicker than the H-D shield and may add an mpg to mileage figures. This is a good product. The ride back to MO. will be much more pleasant.

Hmmm, maybe I need to get used to it ...but I just don't like the way the windvest looks at all. I like the Memphis Shades much better.

Yeah! I must agree, looks nice on your bike ...fit's the curves well!

I think I'm going to go with the Memphis Slims when I get my bike. (unless something grows on me I like better)

Check out the Rifle detachable SoloShield. It's a great shield with a smaller footprint (15x17")than the Harley standard size quick detach. It's also adjustable for height and angle which helps buffeting. I have two shields for my 08 custom, the Rifle and the Harley quick detach. After having the Harley shield mount braket machined to bring it in-line with the rake (which also put it 2" below my line of site = bonus) I still prefer the Rifle for buffeting and looks. I just put some 1.75" thick bars on so eiither get new mounts for the Rifle, use the Harley shield or buy a Windvest. I'm leanin toward the windvest.

It is the 14 inch clear Windvest. I am 5'6 on a good day and it covers me perfect, too much taller than that and I dont know. I only saw 14 and 16 inch versions in windvest. I lucked out and got mine through barnettharley on a closeout for 180 bucks brand new.
