Today I bought a 2007 Heritage softail off Ebay. 491 miles on it looks like a cream puff.
I will know in about a week. I am having it shipped to me by a company called Hog-Haulers.
I live in Indiana and the bike is in Florida. Total shipping cost $550.00 door to door. I could not fly to FL and ride it back for that. Anyway the bike is actually for my wife. She is selling her 2007 1200L Sportster so we bought this anyway. i have never bought anything off ebay before WOW I can't believe I did that. I have been lurking here for a few months. I have cancelled the 2009 I had ordered for March and my dealer is cool with that.
I know it's not polite but ....how much?
Please post some pics when it arrives.
I call my local dealer who were great to me through this whole thing. They told me NADA said $15,480.00 I paid $15,500.00. If it had higher milage I am not sure what I would of paid. The pictures that were on Ebay were great. I talked to the selling classic car dealer who offered the bike. Previous owner bought it last July. road it some and was transfered
to VA. Sometime last fall. He left the bike at home and his wife didn't ride. Finnally decided to have his friend the Classic car dealer sell it for him. Sounds plausable. I will post pictures after I get the bike and reply to the whole process.
I found my first bike on e-bay, and it turned out well. Don't forget to ask about any service records he has, make sure you know when your warranty ends, as this should still have existing warranty. Also, ask about any manuals, parts he's swapped out, etc. If he has an extended warranty, make sure that he's willing to fill out the paperwork they will mail him so that you can get it transferred.
Most importantly, congrats! Now take it and make the wife get another bike. LOL!
Congrats. From what I can tell the only "improvement" the 09 has over an 07 is a thicker passenger pillion. So you saved yourself a few k which you can now put into upgrades. Hope the bike is the creampuff you're expecting.
