Thumbs up

I replaced the stock seat with a more traditional softail seat.... it lasted about a week...
IMO the stock seat looks right and is comfortable!

Default I don't like the stock seat

Is anyone out there running "The Sloth" (Mammoth Choppers) "Bare Bones" or the "Silhouette" solo or deluxe solo on a Crossbones? I need to sit further back on my bike and I tried changing the position on my seat but it didn't help much at all. I'm thinking of switching to one of these seats and some forward controls to give me a little more leg room. Hopefully someone out there is running this set up so I can get some feedback as my wife wants to order me something new for the bike.

I think the cross bones looks sweet as hell and I don't care what all the haters say. I too am partial to the sprung seat but if I had to replace it, I would probably go with a set up like this:

I'm still waiting for the "Standard Leather Solo Saddle" #52004-25 to come in.
I ordered it over a month ago!

I had a Sloth on mine for a few days... nice seat... It moved me to far into the bike and close to the floorboards... changed the look...IMO in a bad way... I think I still have it up in the attic...

sounds like a typical dealer quote to me.just because someone works at a dealer dosn't mean they know what they are on about, I have 2" springs on mine like alot of others and had know issues with it

Did he give his or her reasons why it was a safety issue, was it a mechanic, salesman or spares counter person, who told you this

I've had mine a little over a year and have just under 8900 miles on it. I am 6'1" and weigh 240lbs. I've done 1000 mile weekends and 300+ mile day trips with no comfort issues. I love the ride, feel, and looks. Most comfortable bike I've ever owned.
