Hi. I put on the roadking harley davidson chome floor boards and brake pedal on mine. Not too expensive either, world of differience in look of the bike.
My left floorboard keeps coming loose on my 07 Deluxe. I've re-attached it a few times but after a week or 2, it loosens up again. Seems the board is attached to the metal plate below it by 5 rubber nipples that extend thru 5 holes in the plate. I just talked to one of the techies at my Harley dealer and he told me this is a common problem with Deluxes. The rubber nipples are too soft and they allow too much play. So after a while they work themselves thru the holes. 2 days ago I had to grab my left board before it came all the way off and became road trash. The techie agreed this is a design flaw with Deluxe floorboards and the 09s use the same design. Anyone else see this problem and if so, any recommendations on how to fix it (short of buying new boards)? I'm thinking of some super glue under the nipples. You'd think after a few complaints HD would have redesigned them by now.
I had the same problem with the OEM boards....one fell off the day after I bought the bike in fact. I have since replaced them with the aileron series and haven't had any issues with them since.

yup ...mine do the same on my Softail Deluxe I'm always checking on them to make sure they stay in place.... these same foot boards are also on our Ultra Classic Electra Glide.
I like the washer idea I think I will give it a try.
thank you CrawdadAZ for the idea.
it sounds as though you just aren't getting them to seal on correctly when you put them on. I was fighting the same thing for a bit then I sprayed it up with some WD 40 and made sure I got the tabs pulled all the way through. After that no problems.
You could try a bead of aquarium sealant around each tab, before putting them on again.
ha ha ha... I'm glad to read this. My right one almost fell off in my garage the first day I got my bike. I noticed that it felt loose compared to the left one and pulled up on it a bit. It almost came completely off. One of the "nipples" had come out. I worked it back in real good and it's been ok so far since. nice to find out that not all floor boards use the same technology.
