Well let me ask you this: Would you rather hear someone's experience on a "durability" issue who has very little miliage or hard use on a part or would you rather it be from someone who puts on alot of miliage daily, doesnt worry about garaging and detail cleaning their bike every other day with an ear swab and can give an honest opinion(whether it be positive or negative)about a manufacturer's real worth in the QC dept.?

Sorry if I', not gonna sugarcoat every mfg. that makes a chrome part here, most companies don't spend much money for a good quality chrome plating process. Kuryakyn is just one of many. Hell they spend more money of the packaging of their parts than they do on the chrome process they outsource to someone else.......

Sounds like someone needs to step away from the computer and take a ride.

Dude, your first post in this thread was an opinion which is what the poster is looking for.

Your second post attempted to back up your opinion by claiming you had a box of 15 useless kuryakyn parts which we have yet to see BTW.

Your third post was uncalled for. period.

Original poster is looking for opinions and i'm sure he's old enough to make his own decision.

No need to bash, so as to, make YOUR opinion the ultimate reference.

Peace out

PS. I really like your build but that 2 up seat ain't doing it for me...you should take it off. But that's just my UN-sugarcoated opinion.

We all know that good chrome costs much more than covers etc. but I also see that HD chrome is not that great either, you said it yourself. HD chromes the inner primary as well, so I guess that chrome sucks as well. Do you buy a new inner and take it and have it rechromed by a competent plater?
Let's face it, most bikes are by your definition "garage queens". I'd love to take mine to work but I have to have a car; I'm in sales and I could not carry around all my work info with a bike. Most people are like me and are riding when they can, and not as much as they would like. These parts are not plated as well as they could be, but really good enough for their intended use. Show bikes get no expense spared on chrome, real world riders (notice I didn't use the faux pas "bikers") are really better suited for the more reasonably priced options.

........as for this part, if it isnt the actual inner primary cover and just a chrome cover "add on" don't waste your money, covers don't do anything good for your bike except retain in heat and promote rust and corrosion.
Your right I don't ride when its below 30 degrees or with snow on the ground in the winter. Funny you say covers are a waste of time yet you have a bucket of them.

Please post a pic of your bike and tell us all where every full chrome replacement piece came from. You must have at least 30 grand into your bike. Lets see it. Since your such an expert brag a little with some pics.

Honest truth here: For the money spent for a completely new chromed inner primary, he could instead, take the part off and have it professionally polished(best option and actually a cheaper one as well), or acid dipped and triple chrome plated for about the same price that he would to rebuy the part. If he just wants to add a chrome cover on top of the inner primary, I think its a complete waste period. It will do more harm than good.

I dont have a bucket of chrome covers, I have a box full of damaged chrome parts from customers(some are mine including 2 pairs of flush mounted gas caps and guages, and a set of forward foot and hand controls) most of which are pitted and peeled made by HD or Kuryakyn. Hell even my project NT which doesnt even have 500 miles on it is showing rust and pitting to the few chrome parts on it from just sitting outside. Condensation kills em, because most companies dont treat/acid dip the parts before the plating process.

And there were a few "uncalled for" posts by others as well AFTER my claim of having a box of crap chrome from HD and Kuryakyn. Or is this just a one way street here? Like I said, you got alot of queens here who get their feathers ruffled when someone doesnt give a good glowing review on something they may have themselves purchaced. Am I wrong in this assumption? Or am I "smoking some"? Gee, glad someone didn't ask me if I worked for a material plating company back in the early 90's.

PS: Nice thing about my 2up seat, its DETACHEABLE! And when it comes off you can't tell its even part of the bike.
