Its like asking apples and oranges, they are both fruit but they taste different. I have an "03" Fat Boy and they are going for
a pretty penny in the want adds. Seems to me the V-rod has lost a bit of value. But ya know you shouldnt be looking at selling
already. You want to ride it not sell it. Some people like the way you sit on the Rod, I dont. I am 6 foot and I just feel funny
sitting on that high revving, tire smoking, far out v-rod but for me its the cruz factor and my Fat Boy does it for me. Ya know
if you do like the V-rod the 2006 is differant. The bars are flat and the foot controls are way back. More HP also. I would wait
for the '06' for a v-rod. But hey what do I know? I do know that Blue Screaming Eagle Fat Boy is one nice bike. Talk about
a pretty penny though. You could buy two v-rods for what that cost. I sure would love to add that Bad Blue Boy to my family.

Re: resale value...I was amazed when I went into my dealers recently and they had a "demo" V-Rod sitting next to a new one. The "demo" was something like $17,995 and the new one was like $25.500. Didn't take the time or know enough about V-Rods to know about extras, etc. but I've never seen that kind of dollar difference between a new and near new Harley. There may be (and prob. is) more to the story...just passing it along FWIW.
V-rods are not holding value well. Not many used buyers for that ride, the Fatty is the only way to go. By the way the CVO's are also the way to go as the book value reflects all the goodies that come on them.
