Default Handle bars risers question

While cleaning my 02 Fatboy today I turned the handlbars to the right and felt like something broke loose at the risers and now I notice some movement when I pull on the handle bars. I checked the riser nuts and they are on tight. I never felt this movement before and now I'm concerned. Anybody had this problem? Can they be tighten again?

You sure it isn't the rubber the risers are mounted to???

Nothing should of snapped in that area. If it did, its not going to be good

My mechanic said that sometimes the washer on top or bottom of bushing could cause this problem. I had similar problem and he recommended Poly bushings with new thrust washers. Sure enough, there was a crack in the washer. feel alot better riding bike now.

Thanks theos02, I will take it in to my local shop to get it looked at. I also don't feel comfortable riding it like that.
