I trap my bike in the garage, with my Jeep. I also have 3 used paper targets, from the pistol range, hanging on the wall, where the bike sits.

I would set up a video security system and record what goes on. That way, you'll know who did anything.
On top of that, I'd hide a motion sensor (same type as for a light), and connect it to a buzzer in your bedroom.

If the wife says no about a PITBULL or Rotty get rid of the wife, she sure cant stop the burglaries, just kidding, as a retired LAW ENFROCEMENT OFFICER myself, the best alarm is with out a doubt a Pit or a rotty, and yes 2 burglaries in five years is not really a good neighborhood, flood lights with sensors sure help, hope u figure it all out!

The dog does not have to be a bad ***. just one that sounds bad and barks. I have heard of those who use sound system to act as a grwling dog when the motion is detected. I know that would keep me out.

I have been broken into 3 times in the last 6 months. I think I have finally deterred the POS's. First time they took over 3 grand worth of stuff then I was broken into twice where they were caught on my surviellance cameras. The timing on the cameras on the last two times shows younger guys coming up to my house and running away less than 1 minute later due to my ADT system. Oddly enough there have been no arrests or suspects named even with the cops seeing the videos. I would difinately get some sort of alarm for the house and garage. A surveillance system helps(cause I know what they look like) here is a good website.

And I have a Rott but he stays fenced in the back yard (they broke in through the front) He is the best dog I have ever had. He does look scary and has a mean bark but thats about it. From what I have read Labs will bite before Rotts will. So get a lab! Well good luck

Here's the link to that Dakota monitoring system. I'd put it inside the garage rather than outside since birds, animals, etc would tend to trigger false alerts. It's just like a regular motion detector but it sets off an alert tone in the house. The inside console can handle up to 4 sensors including the driveway monitors which I also have.

Man... where the heck do you live?

Getting burglarized more than once is actually pretty common. They take everything the first time. You put in an insurance claim and get all new stuff - they come back for the new stuff.

Move, I leave the keys in the truck outside and rarely lock the house, home or away.
