Thanks all for the input. I'm looking forward to riding the bike this Saturday and making a decision.

Love mine. I agree on the seat. I like the look of the stock seat but I haven't had it on since getting a Stripper style for around town and a Sundowner deep bucket for long rides. Reminds me I need to put a post out their to sell off that stock seat...

But yea... buy it.

To be the "wet blanket", the only drawback I can come up with is fork maintenance is more than and mechanically more complicated with springer front ends. Just setting lower leg breakaway takes a bit of skill. Do it wrong and you can seriously kill yourself (esp. if you don't secure the forks prior to disassembly-it's like a mousetrap and will take you skull out)! I'd like to put a Paugho on the front of my Sportster, tho'.

I've got an '07 Springer Classic that I don't see ever giving up. I love it, but here are the caveats that I've found with it:

It's a bit harder to change things on it. I will not go through all of it, but basically the crossover dual pipes, tombstone tail light, and springer front end do limit some simple changes or additions.

One thing to be aware of on your test ride is that the front brake is a single piston brake. You will notice that stopping power on it is lower than on other Softails. I've not found this to be a big problem, but I do remember pulling up to that first light and being a bit careful about adjusting my normal stopping distance.

As I said, though, I don't plan to ever trade my Springer out. I've taken it on a couple road trips in the mountains in Arkansas and use it for my commute. It has handled well and has been great to ride.

Default I liked it too...

When I was serious about buying a bike...I started with Springer Classic...black n' red...the best.

One problem was I didn't fit...just felt too cramped...and I am only 5'10.5"...not that tall at all!

So I bought a Roadking Classic...why?

Because I was divorced, had the money, and I could...that's why!

Buy it...it's a great looking bike! buy it!
