I bought mine at Walgreens. They were $2.99 or something. They come with a case and have a string to attach them together so you don't lose them. I use them every time I go out on the highway.

I have had them for 2 years now and love them. They cut the wind noise down to nothing!!!

The best ear plugs I've used are made by "The Safety Director" and are sold by Cintas. They're simply awesome. I can wear them all day w/o discomfort, and the decibel rating is very good.

If you need tunes, Etymotic ER-6i's are killer. They reduce ambient sounds by 25-ish db, and they sound great. Can be had on Amazon for about $70...

Great input thanks Ridedeluxehd !

+2 on the little rubber/plastic ribbed ones. The pair I have are branded Smith & Wesson although I highly doubt they make them. They work great though, easy to put in and pull out. I keep them in the windshield bag for easy access.

I've been wearing hearing protection when I ride for several years now. I finally had a custom set made to fit my ears a couple of years ago and they work very well and are very comfortable. Prior to that I used the foam ones you roll up and then they expand in your ears. They work well too but aren't as comfortable after a long ride. You can usually find some one making them at the larger rallies.

Thanks Terry! It's something I've not seen discussed much in my short time on this forum. I guess I am more conscious of it as I am getting older and some of my more senior immediate family are having issues in there later yrs. Once you've lost your hearing basically there's no getting it back !

Default Ear plugs sometimes...

I've been working in industry for many years since the Navy and found these to be some of the best around. Very comfortable with a NRR rating of 32db. I've routinely worn these for 10+ hours with no irritation of my ears.

I use a custom-molded pair from this outfit on long rides:

http://www.earplugs4u.com

They work pretty well, limiting the dB level to about 85. They're comfortable as well. The only problem I have with them is they often fall out when I take off my helmet (I use a full-face modular)...that's a bit of a PITA.
