Default Mounting Solo Seats

Hello,

I recently purchased a solo seat from a company that doesn't supply alot of Deuce seats. The problem is that it didnt come with any mounting brackets for the rear of the seat. I have drilled and rivoted the front bracket on but now I am looking for ideas as to how to mount the rear of the seat. What kind of brackets are on the other solo seats (Le Pera, etc.)? The owner of the company I purchased the seat from is in the hospital so I cant get an answer from him. I really like the seat and do not want to send it back.

Thank You,
Jeremy

I can't say for sure on the deuce. All of the solo seats I know of do not attach in the rear. They slide in the front & attach on the sides only. Someone please chime in if I am incorrect.

Yea, this seat is a little londer than the standard solo. It came with no brackets on the back or the sides. It appears that I will have to make the brackets. The brackets on the side would be less noticable but I do not want the back vibrating around. Are the side mounted solos mounted through the frame?

Thanks again,
Jeremy

My fatboy solo attaches in the same two locations as the stock seat. Is a deuce different?
I don't mean to sound negative, but if you are installing all of the mounting bracket locations to this seat, it better have been extremely cheap. It doesn't sound like a m/c seat builder.

The stock Deuce seat only has 1 screw holding it down. This screw is on the very back (in the fender). Of coarse, it has the tongue piece on the front too. I have no screw holes on the side of the bike. I know what you mean about the seat. Giving the circumstances surrounding the owner of the shop, I understand why there is no brackets. The seat seems to be extremely well made and the only thing that could make me happier would be ....the brackets. I guess I need to see how other solos mount of the Deuce. I didnt realize the FatBoy and others had side mounts. I could always drill a new hole in the fender and make a back bracket but this seat is so much more "low profile" that the bracket would hold the seat noticably up.

like Gene said my solo mounts with lip front and then each side has a tab that slides in behind the struts and then one of the strut bolts go through. That is a great low profile seat in your pic I need something lower than what I have... current seat plops me up on the bike rather than in the bike. Where did you get yours? It looks a lot like the Agoura Custom.

Yea, VOODOO, I took your advice and talked to the lady (Rita) at Agoura. I love the seat. I would definitely order it again. I just need to figure out how to mount it. I suppose I can build some brackets to go behind the struts. The only thing is, this seat is a little longer than a standard solo so I have to make sure the brackets hold it tight to the fender. The seat position is nice and it gives the bike a nice look (in my opinion). I do appreciate the information you gave about Agoura.

Jeremy,
Sounds great - they got a seat to you pretty quick. How's the rider position on the bike?? Did you have to relocate the computer?

Yea, they shipped the seat out the day after I ordered it. They had only 1 ready to go (even though they have many pans ready). The seat I got was the actual 1 in the photo shoot that you posted. As far as riding position, I only took it around the block 1 time and I have to say I like it. It is much lower than the stocker and it seems to relax my arms a bit more. I need to give it a good ride to see the effects. It is a little harder but the position seems better. I did have to relocate the cpu. The instructions have the CPU face down in between the battery terminals. The seat pan has a square hole cut in the bottom (with felt over it) which holds the cpu in place.
