I am going through this exact same thing now, I couldnt believe it when I just logged on and saw this thread. I am getting a FXSTB 09 in December. The only reason I want custom plates is that the ones we have here in Western Australia have one number at the front and 3 letters then 3 numbers for a total of 7. The colour is blue on white as a standard.
I am looking at a 5 number/letter combination with white on black and have come up with the following, but the ones with letters only I dont think I can have as I think we have to have letter/number combo's:
