Springer ?'s
Picked up a 96 Springer for my mom a couple months ago and she doesn't like the ride of the Springer. My question is will a Heritage front end bolt on without any mods? Also, what is the difference between a Fat Boy front end and a Heritage front end, other that length? What about a Road King front end? Any info will help, she doesn't ride as much as she used to, and I don't want to take it in the shorts selling it and trying to find a Heritage that she likes. (she's a little picky) I have already done a bunch to it to make it fit and don't want to do it all over again.
I am not for sure, but I bet the Parts Guys would know at the stealership. Also, I too get anoyed at the (what oil should I use, how should I clean my bike, what color should I get, questions!!). Some things should just be answered by the one asking the question.
The softail frame is all the same, same neck. While you are at it, get a 2000 up FL front end and update the front caliper. Pre 2000 uses a padlock for the front end, 2000 up has a lock in the neck. With the 2000 up you can put on the better calipers. You will be able to sell the springer front end and pay for the FL front end. The Springer front end is very desireable. The Heritage and fatboy front end is one and the same.
Thanks guys, I knew if I just asked a stupid question I would get a response. Kinda puts everything into perspective. It's no wonder us Harley riders get ripped on all the time. Never hear metric riders talk about RUBs.
By the way, anyone willing to trade a complete FL front end for a complete Springer front end?
