I live in Lancaster, PA about 45mins from York. Heard its a great time! I am going up for the first time since I own a bike now. But I was told if you make it to the York Fair Grounds before 6pm Friday night there is a parade into downtown York. They close off 2 blocks on Market Street for Bikes ONLY; and then the party starts. This place is always crazy with bikes for this weekend. CANT WAIT!
i would get to fair grounds around 4:30- 5pm
if ya want in...on riding in parade
but if ya want to hang out in town and watch... george st& market is the square in the city... main spot and goes out a couple of blocks each way from there shut off to people and bikes lots of vendors and a few live bands out on the streets
great time. welcome all cant wait myself

Started to rain ... oh well,
Hope all has a good time at the 2008 York's open house
I have been, but not to the open house.. It has been many years but It was neat!!. I don't know how the tours are nowadays, but back then on the tour, they had a great timeline of bikes in the museum and the factory tour. The day I went there was no factory tour due to it being a Saturday, but the museum was great. I remember the Forbes bike and some of the military bikes. A lot of neat stuff. Have fun..

I was there yesterday for the first time. Had a blast -- the tour was great (takes right at an hour) and there wasn't even a line so we got right in. After that, waited about 30 mins to take a demo ride on a the VRod Muscle -- way cool bike although I'll be sticking with my Cross Bones.
Other than that, the dealer tents were all pretty much the same and the food vendors were pretty bad IMO. I did enjoy the Harley trailers sitting in the middle and bought an Open House shirt. I live about an 1 1/2 from there so we just went up/back the same day. Started raining right as we left.
Definitely worth going and I'd like to go back again when the weather isn't so foul.
I have been there 4 times in the last 15 years. My last time was last year and it was better when they had the museum there. The tour is still great though.
