Default paint lower fork sliders

Just checking if anyone has tried to paint their lower fork slider. I would prefer not to remove them. I just don't know what will have to be done to get the paint to stick or how hard of a clear did they use on the to break it enough to get the paint to stick. any help would be great.

I wouldn't paint the front legs, they get too much abuse from rocks and bugs, the paint will chip and crack very easily. Powder coating would do much better.

I painted mine and haven't had any problems at all. I also painted my front spoked rim on my Night Train and have had no problems at all. I sanded them lightly first to rough them up a bit. Then sprayed them with some self etching primer from a rattle can. Let that dry then shot them with some gloss black from a rattle can. Then some clear coat. It looks awesome and I'm always getting comps on it. Best part is it cost only a few bucks and a little time. It's held up great. I think I'm gonna paint my tripple trees soon too.

Later,
Robert
