I want to start my Stage 1 upgrade on my Deluxe but want to keep the stock A/C cover. What options are out there for removing the A/C back plate and installing a high flow A/C while keeping the stock chrome cover? It appears that Harley doesn't make a Screamin Eagle A/C to fit the stock cover. Thanks for any input.
HD does make an SE filter and backing plate that will fit under that stock football, you could also go with the Arlen Ness Big Sucker. Im sure there are a few others but those are the most popular. On a side note, if you buy the SE A/C get the K and N filter, it will last alot longer.
What year is your bike??? I put a SE/AC on my 08 Train and kept the stock cover till I switched to a round cover with a SCREAMIN EAGLE trim ring. Check your selling dealers parts dept.

Thanks for the info and pics; your bike looks sweet! I will check with the dealer. The S/E filter that fits the stock cover is not listed in the 2009 Catalog or at least I can't find it. Maybe they still sell it but it's just not listed....or maybe Im just blind :-)
I just recently had the dealer install V&H LONGSHOTS, SERT and a new S/E A/C,,,,
the service advisor showed me how the A/C cover is farther out to allow more air to the breather..... didn't examine it closely, but it does "stick-out" farther than stock.
