Windshield Height Adjustment ???
I have an 04 FLSTCI. Anyone know if the Windshield can be adjusted? It just to high for my likes. Right at the center of my eye so I get that Bi-focal thing going on!
I'd rather lower it than spend the $$$ on a new one....

Ken, look down in the DIY section in Frames, etc. About the second thread is Bill Norse's procedure for cutting the windscreen down. I haven't tried it but Bill swears by it.

There really is no height adjustment on the FLSTCI detachable.
I had the same problem with the height, and simply had 3" taken off the top by a local plastic fabrication shop. Looking at the shield, you wouldn't know it was done unless I told you. Also, many glass shops will do it. Cost is nominal ($30-$45). Many people have done their own and swear it's easy, but, like you, I was not sufficiently confident I wouldn't mess it up to go that route.
As a rule of thumb, if you're of the "look-over" rather than the "look-through" pursuasion (there are many of each), the top of the windshield should be about even with the tip of your nose.

Don't be afraid to trim your own windshield, it is very easy to do and very hard to screw it up unless you try. Just mark it where you want it cut, put some masking tape over the cut area, put it on wide enough that your sabre saw won't scratch the plastic where you are cutting, and just saw the excess windshield off. It won't crack or anything. Then take some sanpaper on a block and sand down the cut edge until it is smooth. Start with maybe 120 grit and end up with 320 or 400 grit. You are done. From start to finish shouldn't take more than 15-20 minutes. Why pay the glass place guy? This is exactly what he will do.
I have heard of fellows using a torch to soften and smooth out the cut edge, but I haven't tried that myself. If you do this, practice on the cut off piece first.
