Default FXSTB steering nut size

Since I have a vibe on the front of my Train at about 40-50 mph I want to check the play in the steering neck bearing as the dealer said they did it at my 10,000 service but I have my doubts. I took the cover off and the nut is bigger than any wrench or socket that I have so does anybody know what size it is so I can try to get the correct size?

Thanks,
Aaron

Just measure across the flats of the nut and you will find the size. You should follow the manual to do head bearing adjustment, it is critical.

There is a lot more to it than just tightening the nut, you should get a service book.

If you tighten it to tight it will have a catch in it. The bearings may need to be packed. I think the size is 1 1/4.

Thanks, 1 1/4" it is then. I already have a service manual and know how to do the procedure, I just wanted to have the correct size tool on hand when I start.
