Custom painted Crossbones
I have a customed painted Cross Bones. It is the paint job found on page 213 of the 2009 HD catalog (also page 717). It is the custom grind collection, alpha. I pick it back up from the dealer tommorrow, but I seen it today; it looks much better in person than it does on the page!!!
I thought it fit the Cross Bones' style very nicely. Simple look, old school idea, blah blah blah. I f@#k'n love it!
I planned on getting some photos of the stick this weekend and putting them up here. Oh ya, spending $2k on a paint set you can only see one picture of was a pretty nerve-racking experience.

I agree the paint job is not a so called "Old School" paint job. But I will say that the Crossbones doesn't have to have a "Old School" look to look kewl. What makes this bike great is the design of the bike. Call it a great canvas to work with. Hey mine is Denim Black and I luv the way it looks, but I have been thinking of getting it custom painted or putting on one of the new Harley custom paint sets they are offering now. That's what makes owning a Harley bike awesome, you have the ability of making it your own. Wether you leave it stock or customize it, the Bones is an awesome bike.
Would luv to see pics when you get some HDChloe. I like the new paint sets that Harley is offering. I was looking the the Fuego set. You get the Black Denim paint along with a flamming skull head. I also agree, actual quality and looks of the Harley paint sets are never given justice by the stock photo pics on the Harley website.
PSDJ52: Man, you read my mind. I almost went with the Fuego set. I LOVE the black denim color matched with the flaming skull, but I just had to go with the grind look. It has a matte black base to it; much flatter black in person than in the photo I thought. I will get some pics posted ASAP.
Kewl HDChloe. Can't wait to see it. I didn't realize the Grind set was matte black. It looks like a gloss black in the photos. When you post the pics, make sure to take pics of the fender on the tops. Was curious what they look like. From the stock photos, you never get to see much of what they do on the fenders for all the paint sets.

as mine also. Now I wanna paint the Dad's 83 FLHT flat black!
I think that particular paint job might look better on a Nightrain or Custom, but its just my opinion.
As for the cost I have never heard of that outfit before. But 'Assuming' they do a decent job on it the price ($2850) seems fairly reasonable when you consider it also includes all new factory (not aftermarket replacement or exchange) sheet metal.
If you don't HAVE to have a black Bones I think this paint job might be a bit more 'fitting'.
