Default lowering my night train

i want to lower my night train and im hoping to get some feedback on a good product, so far im going with progresive. id like to make it adjustable from 1 to 3 inches. is there any other mods that i need to do? from what ive seen there is going to be no issues with clearences or anything like that. my belt will be safe. i just want to hear from someone that has done this mod on there softail and here about the pros cons and how it turned out for them. ill be removing and re-installing the shocks myself. i guess the posts have to be pressed in. any advice or feedback would be great. thanks

i have the progressive shock on my night train. looks awesome dropped it down 2 inches. you will just need to ride it and see how you like the pre load adj for stiffness. im still fine tuning mine but its no big deal. there is a pic in my profile

Jayel, whatever happens,do not do less than progressive 422's. The ride is much better than stock.

I assume you mean the progressive 422 shocks? There is nothing to press in......just unbolt the old shocks and install the new ones. Rear bolts are a bitch....I used a large wrench and pushed with my foot to break it loose. At stock ride height it is a much better ride than stock, however the lower you go the worse the ride gets. At it's lowest setting the ride can be a bit bumpy.....just not much travel at that point. Still, short of an air ride, it's the best method for lowering due to the better shocks and adjustability.

You guys need the Hi-Lo airride system. I got mine about a month ago and it has been flawless and provides a great amount adjustability. They are offering a discount for HDF members as well. http://www.hi-lorider.com/
Call up Aaron who owns the company and he can explain it all to you. (818) 203-2853
He offers a lifetime warranty on the product so if it ever develops any problems he will take care of it free. Having the adjustability of the shocks on the fly is killer. I can ride it slammed all the way down (4") or will it with as much air as I see fit. It really is a superior product. Not cheap, but worth every dollar.
