I bought a Danny Gray from Sterling and it arrived yesterday (blue flames with gel insert); awesome customer service and high quality craftsmanship of the seat. However, I'm already a little disappointed without having even put it on: shouldn't it be "softer and cushier"? The seating surface feels awfully hard to the touch, like there's minimal padding. I was hoping the seat would add the padding the bike is desperately lacking, but it appears not. Is it simply the contour of the Danny Gray that helps with comfort?
Appreciate your thoughts, guys!
Jared
I noticed that the position of seating is about 2 inches further back and at least as much lower than the original Trick seat. And even though it feels a little smoother, it is lacking thickness. So i will have it modified by adding up to 2½ of foam while trying to maintain the look and shape.
I love my Rocker but will apreciate anything that contribute to a softer ride.
It does a great job of supporting the pressure points.
It seems on the firm side until you actually ride the bike any length of time and find you can ride for hours in comfort.
A big padded seat is not necessarily a comfortable seat. It does help sell the bike while on the dealer floor though.
I have the same danny gray seat WITH GEL!!!!! AWESOME!! I have put 4k on it this year and no pain at all. Went on 22oo mile jaunt to canada and back, no issue. Wish I had done it sooner...ouch. Sterling seats/ebay does a great job getting these saddles for a reasonable price.

So, I've put about 1500 miles on the seat, including a 900 mile road trip. All-in-all I'm pretty happy with the seat; it didn't fix my problem 100%, but makes it a WHOLE lot more comfortable. I would purchase it again.
just call danny grey tell them that you want the seat for the rocker and then he can customize the seat the way you want it i had blue flames and gel put in my seat and i love it
