I was down @ my local dealer getting a new helmet & I saw this '98 FXSTS for $11,999. It has all the mods I had planned on doing to my '89 FSXTS this winter. What do you all think about the price?
The previous owner did a good job with making it look clean. I like the swingarm, the extended fuel tank, and wheels. I know Harley's keep their value but $12,000 for a 10 year old bike? Could be worth it, but that is your choice, but let's see what the others have to say.
I think it's too high unless the mileage is extremely low. There is a local 2004 Springer that is for sale that I'm sure could be had for 14K. And it has about 5K worth of motor work, custom paint and diamond cut heads. It's a beautiful bike, but I can't swing it just now. But my point is that it makes that 98 look like a poor deal by comparison. My vote is that I think you can do better buying from an individual.
looks great! doesn't look 10 yrs old. BUT, it is 10 yrs old. Not sure how many miles one typically puts on a cycle versus a car but if the mileage isn't too high for a 10 yr old bike and you can afford it then go for it.
i think the bike looks awesome. it is a little too high for a 10 year old bike. how many miles are on it? if you were going to do all the same mods to your ride then i would say go for it as long as the miles are not too high.
you can always offer them less and see where it goes from there. nice looking bike though.
It's your decision but here's my two cents....I think it's too high for a '98. Its a nice bike but I think you can get a newer bike right in that same price range....All the addon's on that bike don't retain their value...Im sure the guy who traded that bike in will tell you that :-) Good luck.
Too high for a 1998. Just as lionsm13 said, I'd show'em $9,000.00 and walk. It's a buyers marked right now, there's some good deals to be had and $11,000.00 for the '98 is not it.
