SWEET!!!! Mine is an 08, bought it in March and turned 18000 miles today on way to work. My only issue is tire wear, best is 6400 miles out of rear tire. Vance and Hines Short Shots, SE/AC, XIED's.
Needs to get rid of the stock mirrors. Hate factory mirrors. I have the absolute best looking mirrors of all the Trains here on the forum. You'll never find em either! LOL!
Chrome Dome: I'd love a side mount, and I've actually looked at several. I just can't bring myself to cut up this $240 tail light. I'll end up doing it eventually, but for now I can wait.
jknowlton: I love the pipes!!! I've had them picked out way before I bought the bike. They sound great and look mean. Thanx
Apparently, you did not install the tail light. You do not have to cut it up. Just remove the plate.

I think all he has to do is pop off the red reflector piece and undo the two screws under it to remove the top part of the plate mounting, the bottom adjustable hook part will come out with it.
Personally I would have liked to put the plate on the side too. But I don't like the way that nice looking big fat tire picks up and tosses rocks and other crap up at the bottom of the light. So instead of pulling the plate part off I reinforced it with a piece of 1/8" thick aluminum plate cut to match the back of the plate. Now if the tire does toss anything at the (very expensive) light and tin foil like registration plate, the aluminum backing plate will act like armor plating to protect it.
