Larger Front Rotor on my Night Train?? Help
First of all sport bikes generally have better (stickier) tires, better/bigger brake configurations, better suspension geometry, and the biggest difference is they are carrying two or three hundred pounds less weight.
Harley's and other heavy weight bikes just can't compete on anything like a level playing field.
You just have to get used to their 'idiosyncrasy's' and adjust your riding style to accomodate them. Just don't expect to be able to lift the rear off the ground to do 'endo's' or 'stoppies' on anything bigger than a Sporty.
Trying silly stunts like that on a long and heavy Softail is likely to end up with you and the bike in a ditch after you lock up the front wheel. Especially if you try it with the stock Dunlop tires. It will loose traction long before even the stock brakes will quit grabbing.
I hear ya! I have met 880's as of this weekend.
