I have a 04 Fatboy... I was cruising down the road the other day, and it started to feel like it was swaying all over the rode like the suspension was really loose.. I just got on it again, and its the same way, I noticed when I braked hard in the front the suspension in the front is really loose. anyone have any advice or had this problem.. I have the rear lowered 2", but the front is stock... Thanks for the help...
Do you mean it wanders? What speed? I would first check the front tire for out-of-round.
1. Check front end
2. Check front wheel bearing
3. Check brake caliper
4. Check steering head bearings
yes is wanders... it does it when I get over 45 mph for the most part... when I sit on it, or brake it feels like the front shock sink more than they used to.. does that make sense?
Jack up the front wheel, see if there is anything loose, go from there. That's all I can tell you for now, the fatboy wide front tire could make the bike wander if the tire tread pattern is uneven or out-of-round.
I had this problem on the RKC I had. May be you got something on the front tire. Could be too much pressure in the tire as well.
Also, has it been windy? Sometimes the wind can cause that feeling, and you don't notice it, well, because you're riding in wind most of the time, and can't tell.
But if the front is diving more than normal, could be one of the front shock seals is going, or there's an uneven amount of fluid in the shock tubes.
All of this gets to be a real PITA if it starts happening a lot. May be time to have them teardown the front end and do a rebuild.
