Last weekend, I saw an 03 Aniv Heritage (Slvr/Blk) with matching hard bags (came off an 03 Bagger). It looked sweet !! He had the guard rails, the whole trip. It was pretty f'in cool.
I sent my stock bags to David @ Osprey Saddlebag Co few yrs ago. He used the orig bags as a pattern and made me a set the exact shape & size (using the stock ABS backing). He used heavier leather (yes real leather) and reinforced the sides and the lids. I wanted just plain. No chrome studs or hoo ha. Plain. They have really held up. I clean em & cond them with Lexall like once a yr, and just wipe em off when I have them off to wash the bike.
I want to say he charged me 400 & change. Quality sh__!!!!!
One of the reasons I went with a Deluxe, was I can't stand the Heritage bags, and how they look after a few years. I put Iron bags on, and they will NEVER sag!
I have Got saggy bags.com on mine too and they are great for the money and I didn't have to mail them off. Bought the kit when my bike was new because I knew I didn't want saggy bags. Think the trick is not wait too long before installing the kit.
I used the gotsaggy bag kit on my 02 heritage and the bags look BRAND NEW ! Yeah I could have made my own kit and did it my self for cheaper, but then again any excuse to go to the harley shop for a $100 cup of coffee, eh ?
We got my girlfriend a used Heritage recently. One of the first purchases we made for it was the Got Saggy Bags kit. Was a snap to install. Took mere minutes and the results were well worth it. They look great!
Here are before / after pics of my bags using the gotsaggybags liners.
Sure worked well for me....easy install and with the bags also cleaned...they look great.
keep mine full of pillow in storage winter time and they still look as new... not sagging yet and happy with them... retired so they dont set outside in hot sun in summer...
I am glad to read the posts on here about saggy bags. On my 05 heritage, the bags are way saggy and that's the only poor looking spot on the bike. I have been wanting new bags for over a year now but cannot afford $600-$800 for bags. Going to check out these websites and see. Thanks guys!!!
