First!! not really winter project!
Well work (Home Depot) called today, said it was slow, didn't have to come in. So this is what I did!! Dropped the front down 2 inches. Guess I did good, didn't have any parts left over.

National Cycle, fly screen. They have the dark smoke and clear. As I recall it was about $100.00. J&P Cycles carries them. Looks pretty cool but basically useless really. This is about the third adjustment I have made in the angle of the screen and this seems to be the best so far.
Thx for the heads up. I might get one for my FXWG

I used the Arlen Ness custom dampers, $49.50. Bought them from Real Hog, J&P Cycles also has them. You use your stock springs with them. I did notice today a little clunk in the front when I hit some bumps. I wonder if the stock springs are too soft with the 2" drop? Is it bottoming out? Could I put a spacer in there to lift the front a little?

How much fender clearance do you have at full compression? If you're hearing a clunk you are bottoming out. We used to use short lengths of PVC tube to increase preload. I don't know if a Softail has cartridge forks, if it doesn't I'd start with 3/4" of spacer and work up from there.
