I put the drag specialties big buffalos with an 8" rise on my night train. Made a huge difference in comfort. Have a couple of inches of pullback & are a couple of inches wider than the old stock bars. At the thickest part of the bar, they are 1.5" thick. They look great & are cheaper than street slammers
definately get some black apes. I used to have 16's on my Standard and I loved them but after a shoulder injury I put 12.5's on and they are starting to grow on me...look good and very comfortable...but still nothing like the feel of the 16's.
Thats the other thing i was wondering cause my front end is all stock and is prolly going to stay that way for a while. So should i do black apes and keep the riseres chrome or do chrome apes?
I had a similar problem with my lower back and also my neck and shoulders when I was using the stock bars on my Springer. After doing some reading, I switched to apes and the problems went away. Later on down the road, I changed my stock Badlander to a Gunfighter and my butt thanked me for that. I feel that any mod that will help you in the comfort area and will allow you to ride farther is worth the money. Good luck
i put the wild1 low-pro pullback drags on my bike because i wanted i that drag look without leaning forward. i'm shorter and it is very comfortable for me but i have friends over 6' who have ridden my bike and loved the feel (one still says he's buying them for himself). i also installed them myself and used my stock cables and wires. i put a set of wild1's 10" apes on my buddys custom and those are also comfortable and they arent so high where you lose ride control. had to change the cables and lengthen the wiring for that. check out this link they have comparison pics of different bars on different bikes... http://www.wild1inc.com/virtual_demo.html
So i think ive made up my mind on the bars for winter. I wana do 14" 1.25 gangster apes in black have the risers triple tree and fork sliders powdercoated black to. Still trying to figure out what to do about the seat tho.
