So I bought a new Rocker. Wanted the 110" motor upgrade. Let them talk me into pumping up tha motor as a 103" with Screaming Eagle heads, Gear drive aftermarket cams, aftermarket throttle body, fuel injectors, etc. They told me I would lose the Harley warranty but "We guarantee our work" and "You can't break the Motor and if You do we will fix it" Well the motor ate a lifter, which destroyed the case's and now they want $3500 to fix it. So now I'm screwed or what? I am just about depressed over this whole thing. I do have another Harley to ride so the world hasn't ended. But I think I have been totaly screwed by the dealer. Any advice?
Did they give you any kind of written warranty on the 103" build, or was it a handshake kind of deal? With something in writing, you might have a case. The latter is a different kind of story, though.
Harley warrentee or not, the shop did the work so they should be responsible for the damage caused by their work. Sounds like a small claims case if they don't give in...
Do you have a receipt with the breakdown of parts and work performed?
Don't just roll over on this. Maybe talk directly with the owner before making any threats or losing your cool.

I had about 7000 miles on the motor. The motor work and all the maintenance was was done by Destination Harley. One of the biggest dealers around. I have had pretty good luck with them before this. I will definetly talk to the owner before I pay for the repairs.
